Piano tuners and "Setting the pin"
"Setting the pin" is all part of the "Hammer" (tuning lever) technique that must be learned by all piano tuners. It is a process of overturning the note and pushing it back to a stable position. It has nothing to do with hammering the pins into the block. There should always be enough "gription" inherent in the block as it surrounds the pin.
